The ACLS Instructor Essentials Course is designed to prepare instructor candidates to teach AHA Instructor-led and blended learning courses. The course educates instructor candidates on how to adequately use AHA Instructor teaching materials, ensure that students meet learning objectives, offer student coaching skills, provide an objective skills performance evaluation, and follow AHA Instructor and course policies. The course covers core content and discipline-specific content required to teach AHA courses.
Both internal and external candidates will need to complete a phone interview with the Training Center Coordinator before their final acceptance into the course.
Internal candidates MUST have the following: Successful completion of their 90 probationary period, possess a current ACLS provider card, submit a letter of recommendation from their direct report manager, maintained current provider status for the past 4 years, and possess a clean record of performance.
